Bloober Team have released the first extended gameplay video for their highly anticipated sci-fi horror title, Cronos: The New Dawn. The video posted online offers players an insight into the game’s intense combat, horrific enemies, and survival mechanics, as well as introducing two environments featured: The Islands in The Mist and The Hospital.
The Islands in the Mist is a journey through a liminal space where visibility is limited, the tension is high, and danger lurks in every fog-drenched corner. Meanwhile, the Hospital descents into a claustrophobic madness, where sterile corridors twist into nightmarish labyrinths, echoing with the remnants of a forgotten past.
The gameplay reveal expands on Cronos: The New Dawn’s “Merge” mechanic in action. The mechanic shows enemies, known as The Orphans, absorbing the biomass of fallen foes if the player doesn’t incinerate them fast enough. Through a process called Merging, enemies can morph into faster, stronger, and more horrifying abominations with new abilities for a tougher level of combat for The Traveller to overcome.
The player follows the actions of the Traveller, an agent of the Collective with the goal to extract the living before they die in the apocalypse of the dystopian future. Guiding The Traveller are the travel logs of their predecessor, Traveller ND 3500, as they cross post-apocalyptic locations based on real-life places like the Kraków district of Nowa Huta. The video also shows a closer look at the game’s unique approach to time travel between the decaying future and 1980s Poland.

Cronos: The New Dawn is set for release in Fall 2025 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®5, and PC via Steam and Epic.
