Quantic Dream have announced a major milestone this week, as Detroit: Become Human has surpassed 15 million units sold worldwide across PlayStation® 4 and PC platforms.

The record surpasses the 11 million milestone from February last year as the title continues to resonate with audiences, bringing always more players together around the world, said President and Writer/Director at Quantic Dream, David Cage.

“What began as a reflection on choice, empathy, and humanity has become a shared journey for tens of millions of players,” he added.

“This milestone belongs to the community that believed in its story and carried it forward, and everyone at the studio is deeply grateful for their continued support.”

The third-person game depicts a future where technology has allowed human-like android to operate and serve people via residential and commercial occupations.

Detroit: Become Human tells an interactive story through the eyes of three distinct characters, whom you control and decide choices which affect the story as the android slowly become self-aware and rebel against their creation.

CEO and Head of Publishing at Quantic Dream, Guillaume de Fondaumière stated in a press release the new milestone highlights the emotional resonance and lasting cultural impact of Detroit: Become Human.

“The game’s continued success across platforms, generations and continents speaks to the power of stories that place players at the heart of the experience, inviting them not only to play, but to reflect, question, and engage long after the credits roll.”

Detroit: Become Human has been nominated for several awards, including Best Narrative at The Game Awards, and won Excellence in Narrative at the SXSW Gaming Awards.

The game is currently 80-percent off during the Steam Detective Fest.
