An Increase in TTRPG Popularity and Content Around the Globe
There has been an approximately 49-percent increase of people either watching TTRPG content or playing the games virtually, 2024 TTRPG market reports say.
Several factors for the increase including social media and digital sales through crowdfunding (raising around $64 million) have seen the niche, private game-type explode in popularity as more people are buying and engaging in games like Dungeons & Dragons.
The market is predicted to increase to 35.3 billion USD by 2033 if the increase in numbers continue.
However, the high production and accessories costs for most TTRPGs have seen under-18s demographics to be more likely to watch streamers play than play socially.
Many online content creators like Critical Role and Bruva Alfabusa have been generating videos based on table-top games of different genres, with the former creating the fantasy animated series on Amazon Prime, The Legend of Vox Machina.
